School is going well for me! I have been studying more than I ever have before! This next week we have tests and checkoffs. Check-offs are basically skits that you perform in front of the teacher to show them that you know how to do everything. Today at 2:00 p.m. I am going in for my meds/injections checkoff. I am not too worried about it but I have been studying a lot! I have learned how to manage time so that everything is done by the time Andy gets home so I can spend as much time with him as possible! I am the type of person that likes to have a schedule in front of me so that I can manage my time as effective as possible and that has certainly helped me with nursing school!
Andy has been working hard of course. His boss is getting transferred to Peoria, IL and they announced that they will be reconstructing the facility down here. They said no one would be losing their job though! Immediately, we were worried that Andy might be getting transferred to indiana, since he is working out of Indiana currently. After a talk with his boss, we found out that if we were to get transferred, it would be in another year and they would let me finish nursing school first! This was definitely a relief to both of us! But for you northerners...You will be happy to know that we think we are going to end up in Indiana sometime after I finish nursing school if everything continues going how it is now.
A little over a year ago, Andy and I talked about getting a puppy. For those of you that don't know the story... Andy went along with it for awhile and then finally told me that he does not want any small dogs in the house. He believed that they belong outside because of how he was raised. Growing up with indoor pets, I could not understand why. He humored me and asked me what kind of dog that I wanted. I said.." I have ALWAYS wanted a yorkie-poo...they are sooo adorable!" He laughed at me!! So, the subject was dropped! About a month later, we went up to Christian and Chris's home in North Carolina. They have the sweetest yorkie named Bobby. Bobby was very obedient and lovable. Andy immediately fell in love with him (I mean who couldn't!) and made a HUGE mistake by telling his wife "I would not mind a dog log this..."... I just starred at him. I said " Hunny.....do you know what kind of dog that is?" He replied "nope, but I like it". I said "hunny....thats a yorkie... I want a yorkie-poo...It's pretty much the same dog.." All he said was "oh crap!" Andy and I talked about getting a puppy again and he said alright we can get one but you will do all the care and I want nothing to do with it...it is YOUR dog! I was so excited and fine with that...Within months he fell in love with our sweet little Frodo.
With that story told...about 4 months ago (around Thanksgiving), Andy started talking about wanted another yorkie-poo. I am NOT JOKING!! I said well thats great, but I'm the one that has to train him and take care of him so let's wait until next summer to even think about it because I am in school. Well, when Andy wants something, he wants something now (I am much the same way!) This went on for..well, 3 months! Finally, I got in touch with the breeder to talk to her about it and it turns out, she just had a litter of puppies and had a little girl with the same color as Frodo! Andy about died! He begged me! And of course, I gave in! So, at the end of March we are getting a second puppy! Her name is Lucy! We are both very excited now! I think it is absolutely hilarious that Andy changed his perception of small dogs in the house after giving it a try! Who would have thought!!
I will post a couple picture taken of Lucy about 2-3 weeks ago and others just taken today!!
To wrap it up, everything is great in the Schick household! Nothing is ever boring that is for sure!! Next, we plan to finish our outdoor activities as the weather gets nicer, and we will keep everyone updated on that!
